Good  News  For  Type  2’s
Control Blood Sugar Early - Reduce Your Risk 

The United Kingdom Prospective Diabetes Study (UKPDS), should change the way diabetes is routinely treated and significantly improve the quality of life for many people with type 2 diabetes.

Results of this study, the largest and longest running study of people with type 2 diabetes, found that intensive early treatment to keep blood sugar levels within a normal range can reduce by 25% the damage to the small blood vessels of eyes and kidneys. It may also reduce the nerve damage that leads to amputation.

The UKPDS also found that reducing the hypertension that affects more than 60% of these with type 2 diabetes can significantly lower the risk of cardiovascular disease.

This important study reinforces the need for intensive, early education to help people with type 2 diabetes achieve blood sugar and blood pressure goals.  For more information on how you can reduce your risk for complications:
